Have you ever asked yourself these questions – Do you believe that you deserve to receive what you desire? Do you believe that you are worthy of your desires?
These questions were recently asked of me by a friend of mine while we were discussing a very specific area of my life. When I thought about it, I realized that the shocking answer was, No I don’t believe it. That startled me! And thus, began my journey into questioning a number of areas in my life.
I had never consciously allowed myself to go there, and explore these beliefs and feelings of lack of worthiness. It was very uncomfortable and scary to face them. But, I realized that these false beliefs were holding me back from getting everything that I desire. Talk about massive roadblocks!
False beliefs. We all have a belief system that controls our actions, and how we think about things. These beliefs control our feelings of worth, among other things. These beliefs can be incredibly limiting and must be questioned. Those long-held beliefs are probably preventing you from living your life to its fullest. I realized that was what was happening in my life. After my friend asked me those questions, I began to examine why I didn’t feel worthy. Was it true? Was I unworthy? Of course not! These beliefs were dumped into my subconscious mind a very long time ago, at a very early age. They weren’t even my beliefs! Where did they come from? They came from well-meaning parents, relatives, teachers, media, and other people/places/things that I had been surrounded by from birth.
Now what? As I began to think about where these beliefs came from, and how they had affected my life, I had to go through a process of examining, changing, and replacing those beliefs with ones that were true, beliefs that would serve me, and my purpose. I was being honest with myself, and although it was painful, it was also freeing. We all have a choice as to what we believe. It was time for me to choose empowering beliefs.
So, I want you to ask yourself what is holding you back? Is it your false belief that you don’t deserve to receive what you desire? Is it your false belief that you are not worthy of your desires?
If that is the case, it is time to get rid of those limiting beliefs. Question them, and replace them with the truth. And the truth is, you ARE worthy of your desires! You DO deserve to receive what you desire! As my mentor Bob Proctor says, you can have anything you want!
Strategies for getting rid of limiting beliefs. Question where those beliefs came from. Are they true? Where’s the evidence? Most of the time, you’ll find there is no supporting evidence, you’ve just been on autopilot. You, like me, have probably not even been consciously aware of them. If they are not true, you must begin replacing the old beliefs by creating new beliefs. One way to do that is to use affirmations, repeating your new beliefs. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you ARE worthy. You DO deserve to receive all that you desire. Repeat, repeat, and repeat again! Again, as Bob Proctor says, we learn through repetition. Here’s an affirmation to get you started: I am worthy of all my desires, and they have finally actualized in my reality! (Say this looking in the mirror, and with feeling!)
It can be uncomfortable at first going through the process, but it is well worth it. YOU are worth it!
Here is the truth. What you focus on expands – it’s the Law. Shift your focus. Believe that you are worthy, and expect to receive what you desire.
