Bob used to ask that question all the time.
And here’s why…
First, you can be, do, or have anything you decide that you truly want.
And second, if you’d like to improve your life significantly, you need a desire that is so inspiring that it pulls you forward each day. That’s important because, instead of just wishing or sitting around feeling fearful, you’ll feel inspired and determined to move forward despite any obstacle you must overcome to get to your heart’s desire.
This is not a secret
If you want to change your life, you must start with the end in mind.
In other words, you shouldn’t focus on where you are or your current circumstances. Instead, you must put your imagination into high gear and think your way into the feelings and conditions you want.
That’s not to suggest that you ignore your current results; that would be impossible. However, you can look at them so you know where you are without getting emotionally involved with them. This is very important because if you let current facts control your thoughts, things CAN NOT improve.
So take your attention off what’s currently going on, and use your will to focus on what you want.
And then…
Let nature take its course
Andrew Carnegie said…
“Any idea that is held in the mind, that is emphasized, that is either feared or revered, will begin at once to clothe itself in the most convenient and appropriate form available.”
That’s because thinking starts a creative process:
- Thinking creates an image.
- The image stirs emotions.
- Emotions cause action.
- Action sets up an equal and opposite reaction.
So when you’re thinking about something you really want, the reaction instead of your current results (see Step 4) creates new and improved results.
Then, you can start the process all over again by looking at the new result, adapting to the changes, and thinking about what you want next.
That way, your life just keeps getting better and better.
Why there’s no end to what you can do
If you’ve tried to make a significant change before, but it didn’t work, it’s not because it isn’t possible.
It’s caused by a lack of awareness of and belief in who and what you are.
Here’s something you may not know or have chosen to use to create your deep desires…
There’s a marvelous inner, spiritual world that exists within you. This spiritual world is perfect. And that perfection is seeking expression within and through you.
So, you see, you are a powerful creative being that is here to do far more than just get by. You are here to change the world in a way that only you can.
So, no matter what comes to mind when you answer the question, “What do you really, really want?” you CAN do it. As Bob said many times, if you can hold it in your head, you can hold it in your hand.
It’s true. If you can see it, you can do it. We’re all the same—each of us has the same spiritual perfection inside. So if one person can do it, you can do it too.
Have you ever wondered why the world is changing so dramatically?
It’s because more people are becoming aware of who and what they are. They’re starting to realize that there’s no end to what we can do.
Imprint this in your mind: There’s an inner spiritual world within you that is perfect and operates by law.
The revelation of such a world enables you to do, achieve, and attain anything you desire within the bounds of nature.
7 things that keep you aligned with what you want
If you’re serious about creating the life you want, taking these steps will keep you in harmony with your desires:
1. Imagine – build the image of something that truly inspires you—such as multiplying your income, attracting your ideal partner, or creating the business of your dreams.
2. Decide – write what you want on a goal card in the present tense as if you have already achieved it. Make an irrevocable commitment to get what you want and keep going until you achieve your goal.
3. Visualize – each day, sit or lay quietly and create a picture in your mind of your heart’s desire. See yourself in the image—actually feel how happy, healthy, and wealthy you look. Engage all of your senses—what do you see, feel, hear, smell and taste as you experience your desire?
Go over your picture again and again until you feel the whole reality. The more you can imagine the entire “package,” the better it will be.
4. Repeat – Expose yourself to the idea of your goal over and over again. Read your goal card several times each day, use autosuggestion, and create and repeat meaningful affirmations.
The point is not to memorize the information but rather to impress the idea or image into your subconscious mind.
5. Read – study personal development material that helps you understand yourself better and bring more of yourself to the surface every day.
6. Act – act as if you are already the person you want to become. People often use the phrase “fake it until you make it.” However, that can be misleading to many.
I am talking about feeling and acting like you already have your goal. For instance, practice accepting the award if you want to win one. Imagine what you be wearing, what you will say, and how you will feel.
7. Associate – surround yourself with successful people who can help you reach or exceed your goals.
Oh, and one more thing …
Once you have your ideal image clear in your mind, do the following every day…
Put yourself in a very relaxed state, an altered state of consciousness. It is vital that you do this.
Once you’re in that state, start to visualize the new image and become emotionally involved in it. This is how your fantasy becomes real in your subconscious mind.
When you come back to a normal conscious state, rewrite your image—it is critical that you do this. Each time you rewrite it, it will become clearer. Now you might alter it a bit, but your new brain cells become stronger and stronger each time you go through this process.
Every time you do this, you’re moving the picture of what you want more and more from a fantasy to a theory because the image becomes fixed in your mind.
Then, in relatively short order, you’ll become motivated and start to expect the good you desire. And when that happens, the universal power within you will actually take that image and begin to express it through you, and your theory will become a fact. It will create a physical replica of the image you’ve held in your mind.
Do it even if you don’t believe it
At first, you may not believe what you write on your card. You might think, this is really silly, and I’m not going to waste my time doing it.
TRY IT ANYWAY.
We’ve taught this process to thousands around the world. I can’t tell you how many people reached their goal even though they didn’t believe it would happen when they first wrote it on their goal card. Still, they did as we asked, and they kept reading and writing it over and over until they did believe it. Then, they attracted it into life.
So do what I’ve asked and, relatively soon, you won’t think it’s silly anymore. In fact, you’ll be very, very glad that you did.
To more and better,
Sandy Gallagher
