Realizing a dream goal is a rewarding, worthwhile experience. However, for many when they try to manifest a goal, or perhaps that long awaited vacation, it never seems to materialize. It becomes just another good idea that gets “put on the shelf”. Why do so many people NOT take action?
People have worthy goals that they want to accomplish but for some unknown reason their dreams never see the light of day. Many of us live our lives in a flurry of activities & work overload. We tend to be on autopilot with set routines and far too many responsibilities. It would make sense then that few people set goals, so why would they even contemplate taking the time to develop a strategy? What would happen if they did? What if they took it one step further by visualizing? If that was the case, they would then be working with their marvelous mind and would have shifted into high gear!
Visualizing is an effective method that enables you to create “pictures in your mind” of an upcoming event or that goal you truly want to achieve. You see once you make a decision to commit to that idea, it will then begin to take on a “mind of its own”. The goal that you desire becomes not just a thought anymore, but an idea that slowly and surely begins to manifest into physical form. In over 35 years of study, this is by far the coolest idea I’ve ever been taught.
This mental process can be displayed in almost every aspect of your life. From building a picture of your daily routine to booking a worldwide trip. To attracting wealth & prosperity or the ideal companion to share your life with. In my experience the only reason your goals may not come into fruition is simply because you stopped focusing on that idea and changed the picture!
A great example of this is, my family decided to go hot air ballooning this summer in memory of my dad. Experiencing a hot air balloon ride was something he always wanted to do. So, our family decided we would go for him. The flight had been cancelled several times due to poor weather conditions and we were discouraged and very frustrated thinking we may not be able to go.
However, instead of quitting and cancelling the flight we persevered. We did not “change the picture” but rather we held fast and continued to visualize us taking the flight. Our family have used the visualization process for many years. In fact, our two kids have been taught this skill ever since they were young. Needless to say, we were enjoying the flight even before we got in that little wicker basket.
We were successful in experiencing the amazing peace, that blissful quiet and serenity way above the earth floating effortlessly up in the clouds. In reflection, I found this experience quite surreal. Another goal achieved! Here are a few effective tips I have been using that will support you.
1. Make a decision & choose what you want.
2. Write down your goals in the present tense.
3. Visualize yourself with the goal & experience the sensation in your mind. This will crystalize the idea which propels you forward to the goals completion.
4. Read your goal with constant repetition to keep you focused on the end result.
5. Make a commitment to pursue the goal and get on with the work.
That’s it in a nut shell.
Try the above technique for yourself. You’ll be surprised how quickly your wishes come true. Lastly, remember to celebrate and savor the experience before you move on to your next big accomplishment!
