If you are held captive by limiting beliefs, you have the power in your hands to set yourself free.
Starting today, evaluate your beliefs, problems and thoughts from different perspectives. For example, think about how someone you admire would perceive the situation. Or write the belief or problem on a piece of paper and shift your body’s position to look at the issue from different perspectives.
As William Blake said, “If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.”
I love that he used the word infinite because that’s what you and I are—we are unlimited spiritual beings.
You see, what you and I refer to as life is really an invisible power that flows to and through us. Our lives can be expressed in a very shallow, bland manner or it can be wholehearted and vibrant.
The invisible power we refer to as life operates in much the same manner as electricity. One of the laws that govern electricity is called Ohm’s Law. Among other things, this law states that the amount of current that will flow in an electrical circuit will always be inversely proportional to the resistance in the circuit.
In other words, the less resistance, the more current that will flow; the more resistance, the less current.
Well, that’s also true with the power referred to as “life.”
You are an instrument through which the life power flows. This life power responds to your beliefs, your mental attitudes and your expectancies—and any resistance will limit the flow.
What is resistance to life?
There are many names for it— “doubt,” “denial,” “fear,” “worry.” However, the more resistance you remove, the more your life power will flow through you.
My mentor Bill Gove said, “If I want to be free, I’ve got to be me. Now, I better know who me is.”
To get to know who you are, start to remove resistance. As you re-evaluate your negative beliefs and thoughts, you’ll become friendlier toward yourself and develop a deeper respect for your real potential as a boundless, creative being.
To your success,
