How does a legacy begin?
It starts small, and it builds over time.
In Bob Proctor’s case, it started when his mother handed him 10 of her hard-earned dollars to give to a family in need. That act touched something in Bob, and he has been giving from his heart ever since.
He didn’t know that saying yes to Cynthia Kersey’s request would end up impacting the lives of tens of thousands of children.
Often, people like Bob and his mother—people who give from their heart, don’t realize the influence of their generosity until it’s brought to their attention.
So, in recognition of his lifetime dedication to charity, Cynthia Kersey presented Bob with the first-ever Legacy Award at the Unstoppable Foundation’s 7th Annual Gala in March of this year.
Bob’s legacy began with one seed lovingly planted by his mother. And that seed blossomed into a lifetime of generosity that has impacted millions of people around the world.
If you find yourself thinking, “That’s wonderful, but what can I do?” … realize your legacy will begin with a single seed, too.
You don’t have to give away money to make a difference in the world; you can be generous with your spirit. Countless people need only a little encouragement, a good break, a meal, or a simple smile to turn their life around.
Life is so much more rewarding when you realize you can be the answer to somebody’s prayer. And your small act of generosity may spark a domino effect of kindness.
Building a legacy can be really simple. Start by giving more of yourself each day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. We appreciate you.
With gratitude,
Sandy Gallagher
