In the last scene of the blockbuster film, The Secret, a woman writes the following words in the sand on the beach…
FEEL GOOD.
Why end a movie about the Law of Attraction with a visual of those words?
To answer that question, let’s look at the four steps of attraction and manifestation:
1. Write down what you want
2. Visualize what you want as if it is already true, with as much positive emotion as possible (do this every day).
3. Take actions toward your goal.
4. Keep your frequency high by thinking positive thoughts, which cause you to feel good.
Even if you do the first three steps, if you don’t have a positive vibe and feel good on the inside, you will not be able to attract what you want. That’s because you attract what you are, not what you want.
So, the fourth step is critical. Unfortunately, it is often the one that people have the most difficulty with.
If you want to feel good more consistently, then you must change your vibration by elevating your thoughts. There are countless ways to do this but here are a few that work well for me:
Take care of your body
1. Eat high-frequency foods
The foods you eat affect your mind as well as your body. They can make a big difference in whether you feel strong or weak, focused or groggy, good or bad. Keep these tips in mind when deciding how to fuel your body:
• High-frequency foods lead to positive thoughts. The highest frequency foods are fresh organic fruits and vegetables.
Cruciferous vegetables, such as include broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage, contain chemicals that support immunity and help detoxify the body. They’re super-foods for feeling good.
• Low-frequency foods can lead to negative thoughts and cause you to lose focus and clarity. These are foods that are sugared, packaged, canned, fried, or laden with chemicals/pesticides.
2. Stay hydrated
Always drink plenty of water to assist your body in flushing out toxicity throughout the day. Toxicity has a marked impact on how you think and feel so we must do what we can to reduce its effects within and around us.
3. Get consistent exercise
The benefits of working out have been well documented, so I won’t go into it here. Just know that a regular exercise routine can make you happier, more productive and relaxed.
4. Get sufficient sleep
Adequate sleep makes you feel better, and that helps you have more positive thoughts. Not only does getting enough sleep boost your mood, but it can also benefit your heart, weight, and longevity.
Elevate your thoughts
1. Focus on what you want
Because of their programming, most people usually think about the things they don’t want. They don’t want to be in debt, a low-paying job, health issues, or continue to be alone.
And some people dream about winning the lottery and all the things they would do with the money.
But dwelling on what you don’t have or occasionally wishing for something different just attracts more of the same results.
So rather than focusing on lack, cultivate the state of mind you would have if you had everything you wanted. One way to do that is to spend time each day imagining what you want as if you already have it while conjuring up all the positive emotions.
Think of how much happier and more positive your thoughts would be if you fostered that state of mind several times a day.
2. Set meaningful goals
One of the best ways to remain positive is always to feel like you’re working toward something you really want. No matter how successful you are, it’s important to set goals. Otherwise, life can feel stagnant and unfulfilling.
You have unlimited potential and setting out to realize more of it will only make you happier.
3. Strive to make each day amazing
Every day ask yourself “How can I make today more amazing?” It’s a simple question, but it’s so powerful.
Simply by asking, you remind yourself that you are in control of how your day goes, how you feel about it and things you can do to make it as good as possible!
Connect with Spirit
1. Practice transcendence
You are a spiritual being, so establish a spiritual practice that helps you connect with your true self.
This could mean attending a church or spiritual group or practicing yoga or meditation. Understanding that we’re all intimately connected and feeling like you’re a part of something bigger than yourself are integral components of happiness.
2. Dedicate time to helping others
When we dedicate time or money to helping others, it has a significant effect on our own happiness.
If you don’t have much time or money to give, just saying something kind to strangers has a similar effect. Tell the woman on the train that you like her shoes. The compliment will make her smile and make you feel good too.
3. Smile often
Practice smiling as soon as you wake up in the morning. Be grateful that you woke up—it’s a blessing. Look around you, noting that there are endless things inside your home and outside the window to smile about and be grateful for.
Then, as you go through the day, remind yourself to smile every hour. You’ll be amazed at how quickly putting a smile on your face reminds you that you are safe, and all is well in the present moment.
4. Get in a flow
You know the feeling. It’s when you lose yourself in whatever you’re doing, and time is no longer relevant. You may experience this during creative endeavors or during physical activities. This state of being has been coined “flow.”
Actively engage in activities and hobbies that help activate this experience within you as often as possible.
Be aware of what’s going on inside you and around you. Surround yourself with what you want in life, fill your mind with positivity and purpose, send love to all those around you, and live every day with good intentions.
To more and better,
Sandy Gallagher
