Many people won’t agree with what I’m about to say.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
Goal achievement is a creative process.
Think about it. Creation is taking something that is invisible (such as an idea) and giving it form in the physical world.
In other words, creation is motion. It’s a state of flux that is evolving and expanding.
Any time we disrupt the creative process, there are costs…
Imagine a woman wanting to take a break from her pregnancy, thinking she’ll be able to pick it back up where she left off a week later.
Or a farmer planting seeds in the soil and then watering them only once even though the area is experiencing a drought.
Or a man choosing a goal and then changing his mind several times about precisely what he wants.
No one gets good results under those circumstances. There are consequences to interfering with any creative process.
How do you avoid these consequences?
You practice patience.
What is patience, really?
Patience is understanding that there is a natural gestation period for all acts of creation.
We understand, for example, that it takes approximately 280 days from conception for a human baby to be born and it takes a given number of days for different seeds to bear fruit.
Well, the same is true for our dreams and goals. They must develop on the inside before they can manifest into reality. And that’s why patience is required to achieve your goals.
To develop that patience, you need the following:
1. Know where you are right now (Point A)
2. Know where you want to be—what your life will be like when you have your goal or dream (Point B)
3. An action plan to consistently move you from Point A to Point B.
If there wasn’t a gap between where you are now and your dream or goal, there would be no need for patience. And if you don’t have a strategy to close this gap, there’s no patience, only frustration.
Why you don’t achieve your dreams
Most people don’t realize their goals because they lose focus, or they give up.
You might think, “I want this. I want this. I really want this.”
Then, a few weeks later, you think, “This is hard. Maybe it’s too much. I don’t know how to do it.”
What happens to the creative process when you think in this unfocused, uncommitted way?
It stops dead in its tracks—and so does your dream!
Get in alignment with creativity
Instead of stopping the creative process, study the laws of the universe and get aligned with them. Gain an understanding that any idea you hold in your mind will ultimately move into form.
Then, you’ll learn to keep moving in the direction of your dreams and allow the Law of Gestation to manifest your desire at the appropriate time.
Keep in mind that the bigger your idea is, the more extended the gestation period will be. Nature shows us that.
For instance, it takes only 28 days for a chipmunk to have a litter. However, a lion cub takes approximately 120 days to be born, and it takes 645 days for an elephant to have a calf.
Although no one knows how long it will take for an idea to take form, we do know that if you’re not in alignment, it will take longer than need be.
You get in alignment with what you want to create in your life by:
1. Building an image of it in your mind.
2. Focusing on what you want.
3. Taking consistent action to move you closer to the goal.
4. Persevering and feeling good, knowing that you are on your way to your destination.
Start doing this today
Most people think, “I’m going to be happy when ____.”
Or they get frustrated when things don’t happen according to their schedule.
Stop doing that!
Remember, everything happens by law, and your goal will happen when it’s supposed to happen.
So, enjoy the journey. Be happy and fulfilled NOW. You’ll be more relaxed and live in a much better vibration all the days of your life.
To your success,
Bob Proctor
