Some people praise poverty. I’m not one of them.
I believe a person’s right to life means his or her right to have unrestricted use of all the things that may be required for his or her FULLEST mental, spiritual and physical development.
In other words, I believe you and I have the right to be rich. But … we have to choose to be so.
In fact, that’s a lesson that Andrew Carnegie passed on to Napoleon Hill in 1908. In this lesson, Carnegie essentially explained what happens when you are on either side of the stream of power that I described in today’s video.
Here’s an excerpt of what Carnegie said:
“Everyone comes to the earth plane with the privilege of controlling his mind power and directing it to whatever ends he may choose.”
“But, everyone brings over with him at birth the equivalent of two sealed envelopes. One of which is clearly labeled ‘The riches you may enjoy if you take possession of your own mind and direct it toward ends of your own choice.’ And the other is labeled ‘The penalties you must pay if you neglect to take possession of your mind and direct it.’
“And now let me reveal to you, the contents of those two sealed envelopes. In the one labeled riches is this list of blessings: sound health, peace of mind, a labor of love of your own choice, freedom from fear and worry, a positive mental attitude and material riches of your own choice and quantity.
“In the sealed envelope labeled penalties is the list of prices you must pay for neglecting to take possession of your own mind: ill health, fear and worry, indecision and doubt, frustration and discouragement throughout life, poverty and want, and a whole flock of evil consisting of envy, greed, jealousy, anger, hatred, and superstition.“
Fortunately, it’s never too late to open and benefit from the contents of the sealed envelope labeled riches.
But it won’t happen by accident. It won’t happen because you read it. It won’t happen because you like the sound of being on the side of the steam that carries you to riches. You must apply what you’ve learned. You must BE it and DO it.
Approximately twenty years after Carnegie shared that lesson, Hill wrote the following in Think and Grow Rich:
“If you’re one of those who believe that hard work and honesty, alone, will bring riches, perish the thought! It’s not true! Riches, when they come in huge quantities, are never the result of hard work! Riches come, if they come at all, in response to definite demands, based on the application of definite principles, and not by chance or luck.”
So, you see, you don’t even have to work hard to become rich. Riches come from right and positive thinking, and well-conceived and properly executed plans.
Use the writings and tools you’ll find on this site to help you direct your mind in a positive way. Then, let its stream of power carry you upward to riches.
And whatever you do, always, always, always expect an abundance!
